Cannabis and Anxiety

Anxiety disorders are characterised by excessive nervousness, fear, apprehension, and worry that is out of proportion to the actual danger. OCDPTSD, panic disorder and phobias are considered anxiety disorders. Symptoms include nervousness, tension, panic, a sense of doom, increased heart rate, sweating, fatigue, and/or trouble concentrating. Almost 6% of New Zealand adults have been diagnosed with anxiety disorders (including
generalised anxiety disorder, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder).

At this stage, scientific research on cannabis as a treatment for anxiety is pretty inconclusive and limited due to decades-old restrictions on medical marijuana research. But for some, more research isn’t necessary. They consider a plant, and especially this plant, inherently superior as medicine to a pill.
